History


Built in 1924, 1208 Washington Place first served as the home of the First National Bank, also known as the National Loan & Exchange Bank addition. Located in the heart of downtown Columbia, this distinguished two-story Neoclassical building features a grand stone facade, a central two-story section with framing wings, and four beautiful columns featured in the building. Recognized for its historic and architectural significance, it has been proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980.
